Hello All.
I am pleased to announce that we are now reopening our service to India!
We are now accepting local deposits to an Indian Bank account.
Please be aware that, due to the high costs required to cover red tape of doing business in India , BUY orders from India will incur an additional 1% fee on top of our current fees as listed on the RATES pages. We hope to be able to reduce this, however I am sure you are all very familiar with the costs of carrying a similar service in India.
Please note that although the payment will be done locally in Rupees, the order must be placed in USD. Once funds are received and cleared by our local agent, your order will receive the updated and current exchange rate of that day.

No, we will make it perfectly clear when we are able to take deposits in India again - we will not be using any of our old bank accounts.
Firstly, there is no deposit option for India on our buy order form - this will be the first thing that changes if / when India starts up again.
Do not make any deposit into any of old bank accounts.

The HSBC account was closed when it was no longer required. At the moment we can not do anything until we have the funds ICICI Bank has of ours. We looked into other banks and will be ready once this ICICI mess is over.
Good to hear the RBI is taking steps to ensure the security of customer funds and transfers. The current situation is ridiculous.
The Wells Fargo / ICICI Bank connection has not help so far. The account that is being bank wired IS a Wells Fargo account …

Hello,
I find that ICICI bank has tied up with WELLS FARGO bank in USA so if you wish to open a account with WELLS FRAGO Bank in USA and then tranfer your stuck up funds to that bank in USA probably you will be able to get through easily.

I would like to ask what happend to your account with HSBC ? I believe it is still operational. Can you not continue with HSBC ?
Also you can setup account with ABN AMRO, UTI, HDFC these banks have more open policy and fast transfers for bank wires.
Also RBI is coming up with guidelines for banks to transfer amounts within 6 days for outstaion cheques and bank wires or they can be sued.

Our problems I think are being mainly caused by ICICI Bank. Other companies (at this time) may have a better relationship with ICICI Bank and so are not having the same problems we are. It is a very unfortunate (and very unprofessional of ICICI Bank) situation.
We have been looking into other banks and after the current problem with ICICI Bank is finalized there is a good possibility we will have a deposit option again in India.
If any new deposit option is made available in India we will have to increase our due diligence requirements and it may only be made available to return clients - we will consider what can be done to ensure problems like what we are having now with ICICI Bank do not happen again. We would prefer to have a Indian deposit option available even if it means we have fewer clients.

It has come to my notice that a similar website is conducting business of buying/selling e-gold in India through ICICI bank. Maybe we should try to figure what is their policy in transferring funds from India to other countries.
I would also like to suggest other banks such as UTI Bank, HDFC Bank etc..

For Rabi Prasad Rao, sadly we have no other funding options for India available right now.
For T Ranjan, sadly I do not think it is progressing well and it may well take longer then expected. I have no idea how long at the moment.
For Amit Chougule, I have no idea really, I suspect it has a lot more to do with the bank we used - ICICI Bank - they where the start of the problems and they may have somehow caused the RBI intervention. I suspect this issue may have nothing to do with the RBI and all to do with ICICI Bank.
At the moment ICICI Bank is sitting on a lot of funds, if you want to get business moving again try contacting ICICI Bank and tell them to send the ordered bank wires from our account. Until that happens I do not see anymore business being done in India with Indian banks.

In view of your problem with RBI, I would like to ask how is that other websites from foreign countries offer their services of buying / selling e-gold in India? Why is it that only you people are facing problems from RBI and not others??

Firstly, all outstanding pending orders have been completed. This has been done without us receiving your funds - we do expect to get the funds at some stage but at this time we believe it was best to complete them as all the deposits where made in good faith.
To arvind, sadly we do not have a credit card merchant account and so at this time can not accept any payments using credit cards.
To Bharath, sadly yes, there are problems now there too. We are working with our payment processor to have all the recent sell orders returned so we may refund our clients e-gold. We are not taking anymore sell orders into Indian bank accounts at this time. If the problem can be sorted out we will complete the orders but at this time I prefer not to delay our clients even a day more and to cancel the orders should be quicker.
So now, as before we are still in waiting for our Indian payment processor and bank account problems to be resolved. I have not heard any good reports from our payment processor over the last few weeks - hopefully progress is being made and we will be able to return to business as usual in India within the next few weeks.

Hi guys it so much seems that even their Sell orders are with held..
I adviced my friend to carry out a seel order as i got from TGS that all their process were ready except for the Buy egold service ..But my friends bank called him up and told him that there is a teporary hold on TGS accounts..

Firstly, thank you for your support karthik.cmouli, you are right that we do the very best we can and do not want to under any circumstances delay any orders placed with our company.
To Amit Chougule, I hope to when business in India returns to normal we can help you with your e-gold needs - still we are not confident this situation will resolve quickly - we started out thinking around 3 to 4 weeks and we think this is still the case - so sadly a couple of weeks yet.
Now, Saurabh Gupta, shahul hameed shaik and the few others that have been caught up in this unfortunate mess, we really can only do what we can do, our payment processor is working with the Indian Reserve Bank to clear the bank wires and have them sent on their way. We did not expect, and from experience, had no idea that things can change that much that one day all our bank wires are held - whereas before they went through the Indian banking system without any problems.
We will review the current situation, as it is going on longer then expected (not the problem but the delay in pending clearances) within the next 24 hours and post here if any change in decision is made.

We are not holding you money on purpose and at this time we do not even have it. We are working with our Indian payment processor to have this resolved and all outstanding pending orders completed.
Note, our payment processor is already talking with the Reserve Bank of India about this - as it is the Reserve Bank who actually has the funds.
We pride ourselves on good service, work at being as fast as we can and having as many return clients as possible - we would in no way delay any order once we have the funds.
We know this delay is frustrating and we understand your concerns and we are very sorry for this less then ideal process we are all currently experiencing.

We are sorry for this situation and we are doing all we can to bring back normal operations. This temporary suspension has been caused by the Indian banking system and sadly we have to wait until it is resolved.
As mentioned before we are not expecting a quick turnaround back to normal - it could be 3 weeks before we can return to “business as usual”.
